Yes! The “Longhope Abbey” series tells the stories of a number of characters moving through the same world. Each novel is being written to stand alone, with no overarching plot arc. (Spoiler alert: The main characters always get a happy ending!) Some novels may leave questions hanging about secondary characters, because I try to keep the focus on the two main characters; the others’ turn will come.

The publishing order of the series is not the same as the chronological order. I may jump around! All books can be read without reference to any others. 

Longhope Abbey is the name of a fictional parish in Warwickshire, England. It is named after the ruins of a medieval abbey there. Among its residents are the Larke family, the Lightwell family, and the Bell family. The characters in the series are connected, in one way or another, to someone in these families.

As many as we want there to be!

As romance readers, we are accustomed to series of (often) three or four connected characters. I have no idea how other authors manage to do this. I began with three friends and neighbors: Arabella Larke, Cassandra DeWitt (nee Lightwell), and Juno Bell. But as I developed their stories, and their heroes’ stories, dozens of other characters came to life, and suddenly I had stories popping up everywhere.

(People often tell me that I tend to overcomplicate things; the evidence suggests that they might be right.)

Some of the characters will be closely connected, others only loosely connected. All are moving through the same world, and will pop in and out of each other’s stories.

When I first started out, I miscalculated the original publication dates. I now have a policy of not stating a release date until I am sure the book will be ready!

A Beastly Kind of Earl (#1) , A Dangerous Kind of Lady, and A Wicked Kind of Husband (#3) are all available in ebook, paperback and audiobook (narrated by the fabulous Kate Reading).

A Beastly Kind of Earl is currently on Kindle Unlimited, so is not available at other booksellers.

I’m still working on A Scandalous Kind of Duke, with hopes to release it sometime in 2021, although yet to be confirmed. 

As soon as the release dates are confirmed, I’ll announce them through my newsletter, Goodreads, and social media. You can also get alerts of published books through Amazon and Bookbub.

Yes! Plans are afoot to write books for both Lucy and Freddie. I’ve already got some ideas in mind, and will begin work on them once A Scandalous Kind of Duke is ready.

Yes. If an aspect of a book appears to warrant a content note, it will be given on the Copyright page. As ebook retailers provide a sample, you can view it before buying, to decide if the book is right for you. (But if you prefer not to know, you can avoid seeing it.)

All About Romance classified A Wicked Kind of Husband as “warm”, or moderately explicit sensuality. That seems about right.

My novels do take readers into the bedroom with the characters (or wherever they end up!). Physical details are described, body parts are named, but there is more emphasis on the characters’ emotional experience than on graphical depiction of the acts.

There may be some variation between novels. I do not consciously write to any kind of formula; characters will do whatever feels natural for them and their situation.
